AUTONOMOUS ROUTES / AUTOMATION WITH MAKE

Less repeat work.
More room for your business.

Copying enquiries between tools. Chasing the next task. Turning the same information into another update. We help you connect that work into clear routes, with Make, useful AI steps and decisions that stay with you.

Start with one recurring task. Agree the result before choosing the tools.

Give every route
a clear finish.

An autonomous route is a workflow with an agreed starting point, permitted actions and a check at the end. This example turns a new enquiry into a follow-up task and a reply draft.

Illustrative enquiry route. This example does not connect accounts or process a real request.

  1. 01

    Trigger

    An enquiry arrives

A permitted form event starts the route with the information the visitor supplied.

  2. 02

    Checks

    Make the input usable

Check required details and existing records. Missing information takes a separate path.

  3. 03

    Approval

    Choose the next step

A person reviews the proposed follow-up where the agreed process needs judgment.

  4. 04

    Action

    Prepare the follow-up

Create the agreed task and save a reply draft in the chosen tools.

  5. 05

    Verification

    Check the actual result

Confirm the task and draft exist in the correct place, with a link back to the enquiry.

A workflow finishing is only part of the picture. We define which output must exist, who checks exceptions and what happens if a step cannot finish.

Clear rules where possible.
AI where it adds value.

The work determines the approach. You do not need an AI agent to move a confirmed record from one tool to another.

01 / RULES

Predictable steps

Follow defined conditions and actions. Useful for task creation, record updates and reminders.

Example: a confirmed project creates an onboarding checklist.

02 / AI-ASSISTED

Help with interpretation

Keep the workflow fixed, and use AI for a bounded step such as categorising a message or preparing a summary.

Example: a supplied meeting transcript becomes proposed tasks for review.

03 / AGENTS

A choice of approved tools

Give an agent a specific goal, selected tools and relevant knowledge when the next step depends on the input.

Example: collect information from an approved collection and prepare a supported answer.

What would you like
to stop doing by hand?

These are starting points for a conversation, not preconfigured services. We check each app, action, permission and exception against the tools your business actually uses.

Business operations

Keep enquiries and everyday work moving.

Enquiry → organised follow-up

A form or selected inbox message becomes a checked contact record, follow-up task and reply draft.

Review: qualification and external replies.

Support request → clear next step

Categorise an incoming question, find relevant guidance and prepare an answer or an escalation.

Review: uncertain answers and unusual requests.

Confirmed project → onboarding

An agreed project starts a checklist, workspace and internal tasks with the right source details.

Start: after the agreement is confirmed.

Document → structured record

Read an approved document, extract the required fields and prepare a record for your administration.

Review: missing fields, totals and duplicates.

Project changes → status update

Collect task changes and approaching deadlines into a concise internal update with the source links.

Review: blockers and any change to commitments.

Content & visibility

Turn useful ideas into a manageable publishing routine.

Approved idea → content draft

Turn an agreed topic and your reference material into an outline, draft and proposed next action.

Review: facts, voice and final wording.

One source → channel variations

Adapt approved content into shorter posts, a newsletter draft or a useful website update.

Review: context and suitability for each channel.

Content approval → publication

Pass the approved version to a supported publishing tool, then check the returned destination.

Start: after approval of the exact content.

Website content → revision list

Compare selected pages with your current source information and collect proposed updates.

Review: changes before editing live pages.

Campaign data → useful summary

Bring permitted channel data into one report, keeping visits, accepted enquiries and outcomes distinct.

Depends on: available measurement and consent.

Knowledge & research

Find the useful detail without gathering it from scratch.

Chosen sources → research radar

Check approved sources on a schedule, compare new items and prepare a brief with references.

Review: relevance and conflicting evidence.

Upcoming meeting → preparation

Collect permitted notes, open tasks and previous decisions into a private meeting brief.

Depends on: the records you choose to share.

Meeting notes → proposed tasks

Turn a supplied transcript or notes into decisions, possible owners and a follow-up draft.

Review: assignments and ambiguous deadlines.

Saved documents → knowledge library

Organise an approved collection with useful tags, summaries and links to the original files.

Review: access rules and source accuracy.

Daily activity → private briefing

Combine selected tasks, important updates and workflow exceptions into a digest for your team.

Agree first: sources, recipients and frequency.

Build around the tools
you already use.

Make connects apps through available integrations. When a suitable action is missing, an accessible API may offer another route. A connection still needs the right account access and support for the specific action.

Start at the right moment

Use a supported event, webhook or agreed schedule to begin the workflow.

Keep the handoffs clear

Define which information moves between steps and where a person needs to decide.

Plan for exceptions

Agree what is retried, what is held for review and who is told when an output is missing.

The examples on this page are proposals for what we can explore. No Make account, scenario or live reporting is activated by visiting this page.

Start small.
Make the whole route work.

Bring one recurring task and the tools involved. Together we turn it into a concrete brief before deciding what to build.

  1. Map the current work

Show us how the task works today, where information comes from and what a correct result looks like.

  2. Agree the scope

Define the trigger, inputs, connections, actions, approval points, exceptions and person responsible.

  3. Build and check

Test normal inputs, missing details, duplicate events and failed steps against the agreed acceptance criteria.

  4. Hand over and improve

Agree access, instructions, monitoring and support. Use actual results to decide whether another route is worth adding.

Your proposal sets out the chosen routes, deliverables, responsibilities, testing and handover. Platform subscriptions, AI usage, third-party services and ongoing support are discussed separately. We do not promise a measured saving before there is a baseline to compare.

Useful questions.
Practical answers.

Can you automate work with my existing tools?

We first check the exact apps, account access and actions you need. A listed Make integration does not mean every feature of an app is available. If an action is missing, we can assess an API connection or a simpler alternative.

Does every route need AI?

No. Defined rules are often enough for predictable tasks. AI can help with interpretation or drafts, while an agent may suit a task that needs to choose among approved tools. We choose the approach around the work and the checks it needs.

Will it send messages or publish without me?

Only if that specific action is part of the agreed workflow. We define which outputs remain drafts and where your approval is needed. For example, content can stay in a review step before a separate publishing action is allowed.

What happens when information is missing or a service fails?

The design needs an exception path. Depending on the task, that may mean asking for missing information, holding an item for review or retrying a safe operation. We agree how to avoid duplicate actions and who is responsible for unresolved items.

What can I expect to receive?

The proposal defines the workflow, connected actions, test cases, handover and support. A useful acceptance check confirms the intended output exists in the right place; a completed run alone is not the whole result.

Are the routes on this page already connected to my business?

No. They are examples of possible workflows. An enquiry starts a discussion of your process. Connecting accounts, building scenarios and activating any workflow require a separately agreed project.

Can I start with just one route?

Yes. Choose a recurring task with a clear input, output and owner. We can assess that route on its own and use the findings to decide whether a broader setup makes sense.

About the Make capabilities

The platform capabilities described here are based on Make’s documentation. Availability and the appropriate setup are checked for your project.
